What I love about Summer - School's Out!

Days 'till A Little Light Magic: 24

Days 'till the Summer Solstice: 50

True, it's been a long time since I've been in school, but once summer hits, it doesn't take much to conjure up the memory of that ecstatic rush of freedom that comes on the day school lets out for the summer.

At the beginning of summer, the sunny days seem to stretch endlessly before you, filled with all kinds of tantalizing possibilities. (Cue in Alice Cooper..."School's out for the SUMMER!)

Being a mom, I get to re-live the school's out feeling every year through my kids. They're happy (no more rush to get to the bus at 7 am), I'm happy (no more homework to nag about), everyone's happy. We're free until September.

Whenever the school board drops hints that maybe year round school is a good idea, we all freak! Please, Noooooooooooooo!
