What I love about Summer - Leg Freedom!

Days 'till Memorial Day: 22

Days 'till A Little Light Magic: 23

Days 'till the Summer Solstice: 49

One thing I really love about summer is Leg Freedom! I wear jeans or pants all winter long, mostly to avoid having to wear pantyhose. But come summer, I can wear skirts with bare legs. I can put the jeans away and don't take them out again until September. Yay!

Who else hates pantyhose???

Hi Joy!! Looking at that cover, I'm so wanting to go to a beach! Its been forever!

Oh I so hate pantyhose! I actually used to throw out after one use, LOL. Then I went without them except for times I really had to wear them.

I so love walking in the sand!

I don't understand who came up with the idea of pantyhose but they should be shot. LOL I'll be honest I only wear them to funerals nothing else and then only if I have to. Have a great day.

Panty hose were invented by a man.
Explains it all.
Can't wait to buy your book - I too grew up summering on the Jersey Shore, but a little further north on Barnagate Bay. Great memories, great sunrises!
Can't wait for summer-

I *cannot* seem to put on a pair of pantyhose without putting a run in them. I agree, whoever invented them should be shot (my husband would suggest maybe a double hit with the guy who invented neckties), lol.

What I like most about summer is ... no coat! I get so tired of hauling it around with me by the time summer arrives.

I love being able to wear shorts or capris and flip flops. I also love going bare footed. Since I give pedicures at work I always have what I need to keep my feet in great shape.

I love summer being able to bare-footed. Rarely wear panty-hose anymore. I remember working in offices when dress codes were more strict and you were encouraged not to have bare legs, but when the office A/C was on the fritz on a very hot day, I'd have to run in the ladies room and pull them off no matter what they said. If I went out when I left work at the end of the day, first thing I'd do is yank them off!

I detest panty hose. It never fails when I'm putting them on that I end up with a runner or two.

Why, when my mother insisted I wear a skirt at my grandfather's funeral, I forwent panty hose which made her frown.

I spend the summer at the shore, so I know I would enjoy reading A Little Light Magic while relaxing on the beach.

The only time I wear panty hose is to a funeral or something like that where I have to wear a dress. I hate them!

I avoid hose at all cost and often I wear capri's or similiar to avoid the hose for I feel there is an unspoken rule that states if the bottoms are pants like then hose are not required...I also think when I see women in hose that they look "old" I'm all for tights in the winter and self tanners in the early spring into the summer and then once summer hits watch out!!!

I never, never, never wear panty hose for anything except special occasions and I don't go to any of those very often.

I never really cared for dresses when I got older and could dress myself, so I never really had to wear panty hose.

Yeah! I knew there were more panty-hose haters out there besides just me :-)

That reminds me...gotta go shopping for capris...

Hi Joy,
I avoid pantyhose and go barefoot whenever possible.

It has been ages since I wore panty hose. They are so hot and uncomfortable. Long gauzy skirts are the way to go in the summer.

I hate pantyhose too. I love spring and summer when I can get those flip flops and sandals out. Like now. LOL

Another pantyhose-hater reporting in. I haven't worn them in years.

While summer isn't about leg freedom for me (I still wear pants), it sure is feet freedom. I like going barefoot as much as possible.

When I was pregnant almost 10 years ago I stopped wearing pantyhose and I never started again. Well, occasionally, I'll wear black pantyhose when dressing up, but as a rule...NO WAY!

Thanks for the excerpts. I can't wait to get through them!

That's my favorite thing about living in Florida - no pantyhose! No one here expects you to wear them no matter what you are wearing!
