Happy Summer!
Summer is here! Hooray!
And I will cling firmly to that calendar fact, even though the weather around here has not been very summerlike. It's been rainy and unseasonably cool. But hey, that just means the sun is due to be out soon, right?
In the meantime, all the rainy weather has forced armies of ants out of the ground to invade my kids' bedrooms.
First they went to my son's room, where a few days ago he woke to find a juice glass from a couple days before (he hadn't brought it down to the kitchen) covered with ants. Thinking quickly, he killed all the ants, washed the glass, and sprayed his room with the best insect deterrent he had on hand - his Axe deodorant. (hey, if Avon Skin So Soft can keep away mosquitoes...) Figuring I would be less than pleased (he was right), he didn't happen to mention the invasion to me.
The ant army, choking on Axe fumes, staggered across the hall to his sister's room - a place that has a lot in common with an archeological dig. The ants were soon happily roaming amid years of junk, hunting (and finding) candy & gum wrappers and soda tabs. There were enough of the little critters to send my daughter to sleep in the basement last night.
The upshot is that the ants have managed to get my daughter to do what her mother (aka ME!!) has tried and failed to do for the last three years - clean off her desk and dresser!!
Yay ants!!

Happy Solstice!!!! yay...summer is here....and magical nights to come. Thank you and have a good July 4th.
Happy summer! We are having a lot of rain ourself and if its not raining it is very hot and humid! As far as your ants go get you some Grants ant stakes and put around the foundation of you house outside and you will get rid of the ants. You may want to set one it the rooms you seen the ants in. I put them around the house ever spring because I use to have a bad ant problem this time of the year.

Thank you so much . I wanted to wish you a great vacation with lots of sun, fun and laughter.
My husband and I have the same problem with the ants but limited to my son's room via empty cookie boxes or crackers, juice boxes and pop; it doesn't seem to bother him though: he sprays and goes on as if there was nothing wrong.We however get out the big guns. By the way my son is 27 years old!

Man it was so hot today, sad that you want to go to work for the AC, lol. I'ts still 84 here, whew!!
We usually have big problems with ants on the kitchen counters, but so far this year, none have shown up. Hope it stays that way all summer.
